Hinesleys Don't Shake Hands (With VIDEO!)

What a whirlwind these past few weeks have been! On April 16th, the love of my life made his way to the Land of Sand, and I made my way to the Land of Free Refills (America) to surprise my mom on her 50th birthday. I stayed for a mere 2 weeks and then came back to prepare for my next week of speeches. This explains why I haven't written in ages.

I'm still in the process of preparing for my seminar, but I couldn't resist posting this video tonight. Tomorrow (Sunday) is my brother's graduation party celebrating the end of his technical training and the start of his professional career in broadcasting. I always knew Drew would be a perfect fit for sports casting since he is absolutely FULL of useless sports statistics. I still remember sneaking downstairs as a kid and catching him giving full play-by-play of a Duke basketball or a University of Miami football game - and then crying for hours when they lost.

Drew, let's just hope you are now able to hold it together on air when your favorite team loses. Although, I do recall an incident not too long ago where you hung up on me for just mentioning that Miami lost. Sounds to me like you could use some counseling for that. Would you like to make an appointment with Tonya Robbins?

(Note: Drew calls me "Tonya" Robbins because he says I remind him of motivational speaker Tony Robbins.)

While I think your career would likely benefit from a bit of emotional censorship, I have to admit that I would be disappointed if you showed any less emotion with your family.

This definitely ranks right up there with one of my favorite moments...

I'm going to have to make you all wait to see the HILARIOUS video of mom's party, since it takes me HOURS to edit and upload. So, please mark your calendars for Friday, May 15th. Lord willing, I will premiere "Precious Nearly Pees Her Pants" at noon EDT. Don't miss it!

Until then, I hope to publish a short post here and there to keep you updated on coping without my husband, working in the UK, and vacationing in Seville, Spain! Stay tuned!

I never tire of seeing on video how truly blessed I am! Can't wait to relive what is arguably one of my greatest achievements....surprising your mom! And yes, I am still talking about it. As your mom has pointed out, I should be careful not to get hurt patting myself on the back. :-)

Love you and miss you bunches,

Dad

Ha ha! I had to think really hard to figure out what you were talking about. Brian and I both LOVE The Office, and every time "Michael Scott" (Steve Carell's character) makes a home video, he has a little graphic that says, "Great Scott!" at the end. It's hilarious.
