Anniversary

Hello everyone. Just to let everyone know, today commemorates one of the most important and most wonderful days in my life. It is officially my and Katy’s 4th anniversary. Everyone knows how important the 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th, etc. anniversaries are, but I believe that the 4th is probably the most under appreciated. Sadly, we cannot spend it with each other, but as part of my own personal celebration, I’ve decided to do a little Wikipedia research on the number 4. I’ve used Wikipedia because anyone can write anything they want about any subject, so you know you’re getting the best information available.

Nothing in the world would be complete without the number 4. I think it’s no coincidence that the entire world is made up of 4 cardinal directions, the entire year is made of 4 seasons, and the entire Gospel has 4 books. In fact, all matter is in one of 4 states (solid, liquid, gas, or plasma). Even DNA is made up of 4 nucleobase types.

Here are some other interesting facts. All insects that fly (other than flies) have 4 wings. When printing in color, there are 4 colors used (CMYK). There are 4 suits in a deck of cards. In a string quartet, there are 4 instruments with 4 strings. Humans have 4 blood types, the heart has 4 chambers, and the 4th finger is the ring finger, where my wedding ring symbolizes my love, which is the best 4 letter word I know.

In all seriousness, you and I are all aware of how amazing of a woman Katy is. She works hard on this site spending hours so she can pour her heart out and share a bit of our lives with you. In our four years of marriage, she has moved five times and never complained once about it. She’s been amazingly supportive through long days of training and long nights of studying. She’s the most uplifting, supportive, and encouraging person I’ve ever met. She’s touched thousands of people’s lives through her speaking; don’t be surprised if that ends up being millions. Did I mention that she’s a published author? She has more than lived up to the vows she made to me four years ago regardless of how I’ve lived up to mine.

Katy, wish I could spend today with you. I miss you like crazy and can’t wait to get home to you. I love you with all my heart. Happy anniversary!

Brian

You've got to quit doing that!

I hadn't cried at all since you've been gone until I heard from you last night and until I read this just now. You're the sweetest husband ever, and I'm so thankful for you.

Keep on saving the world, but come home to me soon!

PS - I must have slept during the biology lesson that talked about plasma being one of the 4 states of matter. Wikipedia really IS the most trusted source for information. :-)

Happy Anniversary Katy and Brian. Hard to believe it's already been four years. Brian, let's not forget that Katy, Drew and of course Gman are all four letter words as well!

How could you omit the greatest of all things 4. How about 4 rounds in a golf tournament. The Final Four is also kind of a big thing as well. I guess Wikipedia is not for jocks. All kidding aside that was very sweet and I even got a little misty. We all miss both of you very much. Brian thank you for your service. I love you both.
